Job Description

Managing Director leading event operations, budgets, profitability, and teams for SP+, an AI-powered parking technology company. Fully remote near a major US airport with approximately 50% client-dependent travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with the VP to ensure they are fully informed of relevant facts and pertinent issues related to staff, clients, vendors, and projects
  • Collaborate with the VP to build a growth plan supporting the development of each staff member
  • Design and implement an effective communication and management model to support business objectives
  • Educate peers, clients, and staff on event operations
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Lead and manage special projects and initiatives assigned by the VP
  • Oversee, review, and manage projects and employee and contracted staff
  • Review operations plans and revise them to meet evolving opportunity requirements
  • Ensure contracted resources are facilitated according to company and client guidelines
  • Ensure a documented and client-agreeable change order process is in place and used
  • Confirm incident reporting procedures are followed and collaborate with the Risk Department
  • Ensure after-action review processes, case studies, and project metrics are completed
  • Review and manage project profitability and forecast budgets
  • Review and amend project budgets during and after events with project staff and the Controller
  • Forecast budgetary changes for annual projects
  • Cultivate additional revenue opportunities with existing clients
  • Secure client endorsements and referrals
  • Solicit new business opportunities
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and controls
  • Support and promote company values
  • Deliver presentations to stakeholders and partners

Requirements:

  • College Degree with a focus in finance, sports administration, business administration or related field strongly preferred
  • 12+ years of experience working in special events, venues or related fields
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, professionalism, and the ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability and willingness to travel 50% of the time
  • Lives within 60 miles of a major US airport
  • Must possess a valid state-issued driver’s license with a current address and acceptable driving record

  • Ability to manage budgets, work plans, external agencies, and vendors, including complex events, assigning appropriate staff and resources, and executing personally
