Job Description
Operations Manager overseeing pest-control technician staffing, training, safety, and service quality for Rentokil. Managing branch schedules, customer retention, inventory, and operational performance.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee technician recruiting, hiring, training, coaching, development, and accountability
- Maximize technician success, retention, and staffing levels
- Recruit and hire residential and/or commercial pest, termite, specialty, and lawn technicians
- Review and evaluate technician performance through ride-alongs and audits
- Respond to customer concerns
- Ensure service quality and maximize customer retention
- Fill in periodically on customer appointments to address temporary staffing gaps
- Monitor branch scheduling and ensure appointments are completed efficiently
- Ensure safety standards and regulatory compliance
- Monitor and maintain pest, termite control, and home services product inventory
- Track customer satisfaction and retention, technician retention, staffing budget, team safety, route completion, schedule efficiency, sales growth, and service cost control
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Maintain licenses/certificates as required by federal, state, and/or local regulations
- Maintain a valid driver’s license
- Problem-solving ability and ability to identify practical solutions
- Ability to effectively lead and motivate others
- Basic/intermediate math aptitude for sales/service calculations
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
- Ability to build rapport and establish trust with customers and employees
- Ability to move up to 20 lbs by lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or repositioning objects
- Ability to perform physical activities including sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
- Ability to work in damp and/or dusty locations, confined spaces, narrow aisles, or passageways
- Ability to use stairs, ladders, scaffolding, ramps, and poles
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely
- Ability to maintain vehicles and other equipment clean
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including OSHA-compliant respirators
- Healthy vision for detail-oriented activities at close distances or within arm’s reach
- Ability to tolerate seasonal weather and extreme heat/cold
- Flexibility for evening and weekend work, rotating on-call schedules, and extended 50–60 hour weeks during peak season
- Ability to travel up to 100% of the time within assigned territories
