Job Description
BMO Investment Operations Specialist supporting investment transactions, reporting, reconciliations, and regulatory controls remotely in Ontario. Serving internal and external stakeholders while resolving operational issues and sustaining process improvements.
Responsibilities:
- Support and provide service for BMO’s Investment Operations business stakeholders and customers
- Execute Investment product and service processes in accordance with financial and regulatory controls and operational guidelines
- Gather and format data into regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards
- Support change management execution and sustainment activities
- Organize work information to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Execute service requests, transactions, queries, and other routine tasks within SLAs
- Process transactions, activities, and services accurately and promptly
- Respond knowledgeably to internal and external stakeholder questions and requests
- Follow documented policies and procedures for day-to-day operations
- Check and reconcile information and documentation
- Analyze data and information to provide insights and recommendations
- Identify, analyze, resolve, or escalate issues and problems
- Communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
- Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships
- Maintain understanding of regulatory requirements and operational risks
- Collaborate on new processes, systems, and improvements
- Support development of tools and delivery of training
- Complete complex and diverse tasks and handle escalations
- Analyze issues and determine next steps
- Apply BMO’s Risk Management Framework and make risk-informed decisions protecting assets and adhering to policies, laws, and regulations
Requirements:
- Typically 2–3 years of relevant experience
- Post-secondary degree in a related field desirable, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Good knowledge and experience using relevant systems and technology
- Good knowledge of business-unit products, services, processes, and controls
- Good knowledge of business risk and regulatory requirements
- Good prioritization skills
- Good customer service skills
- Good PC skills, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Specialized knowledge
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good organization skills
- Good collaboration and team skills
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work within applicable policies, laws, regulations, risk controls, and SLAs
