Job Description

Payroll & Accounting Specialist responsible for payroll processing and compliance in federal contracts. Ensuring accurate payroll and invoicing support in a growing federal contracting environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time using ADP or Rippling
  • Manage payroll for salaried and hourly employees across multiple contracts
  • Ensure compliance with SCA, FLSA, and federal labor regulations
  • Administer payroll deductions, benefits contributions, garnishments, and adjustments
  • Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies
  • Support preparation and submission of invoices through the Federal IPP
  • Coordinate payroll and labor data to support accurate billing
  • Track labor categories, rates, and hours in accordance with contract requirements
  • Assist with audit requests related to payroll, labor, and invoicing
  • Assist with general ledger entries, payroll journal entries, and reconciliations
  • Support monthly close activities related to payroll and labor costs
  • Maintain organized payroll, accounting, and compliance documentation
  • Coordinate with HR on onboarding, offboarding, and compensation changes
  • Ensure payroll and accounting processes comply with FAR, SCA, and internal controls
  • Prepare reports for management related to payroll costs and labor utilization
  • Support internal and external audits as required

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of payroll and accounting experience, preferably in a federal contracting or government services environment
  • Hands-on experience with ADP or Rippling (required)
  • Experience with or strong working knowledge of the Federal IPP
  • Strong understanding of payroll compliance (SCA, FLSA, multi-state payroll)
  • Proficiency in Excel and payroll/accounting reporting tools
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
