Job Description
Join Yellowfin as a Product Manager to drive strategy and development of its embedded analytics platform. Engage with customers and shape product positioning for ISV opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Be the internal authority on the ISV embedded analytics buyer – deeply understand how ISVs evaluate, purchase, embed, brand, and monetize analytics within their SaaS products.
- Conduct ongoing customer discovery through interviews, customer calls, advisory boards, and win/loss analysis to maintain a sharp understanding of customer needs, buying criteria, and unmet problems.
- Monitor the competitive landscape across embedded BI and analytics – track competitors, emerging players, and technology trends, and translate those insights into strategic recommendations.
- Synthesize customer and market intelligence into clear, compelling narratives that inform product strategy, roadmap priorities, and go-to-market positioning.
- Be hands-on with the product – install, configure, and use Yellowfin as your target customers would, understanding the embedded integration experience from the perspective of both ISV developers and their end users.
- Own and shape the Yellowfin product strategy for the ISV and embedded analytics segment, ensuring the roadmap reflects real market opportunities and is differentiated against the competition.
- Partner with engineering leadership to translate strategic priorities into a well-sequenced roadmap, clearly communicating the ‘why’ behind prioritization decisions to internal stakeholders.
- Define and articulate compelling product positioning and value propositions that resonate with ISV buyers, their technical evaluators, and the end users of embedded analytics.
- Identify and evaluate opportunities for new capabilities, partnerships, or market expansions that align with Yellowfin’s embedded analytics growth strategy.
- Communicate product strategy and roadmap confidently to executive leadership, sales, and marketing – ensuring all teams are aligned and energized around a shared direction.
- Work closely with sales teams to help them identify, qualify, and win ISV opportunities – providing the customer and product knowledge that gives them confidence in competitive situations.
- Help product marketing create sales enablement materials including personas, use cases, competitive battle cards, and solution narratives tailored to the ISV embedded analytics buyer journey.
- Participate in strategic sales cycles as a product expert – joining customer conversations, delivering product demos, and helping prospects understand how Yellowfin solves their specific embedded analytics challenge.
- Partner with marketing to develop messaging, campaigns, and content that effectively reaches ISV buyers and positions Yellowfin as the preferred embedded analytics platform.
- Support successful product launches by coordinating go-to-market readiness across sales, marketing, and customer success teams, including webinars, release communications, and field enablement.
Requirements:
- Proven product management experience in a B2B SaaS or analytics software environment, with a track record of customer-led product strategy.
- Exceptional ability to engage with customers – conduct discovery, extract insight, build relationships, and translate what you learn into strategic product and go-to-market decisions.
- Strong commercial instincts – you think about winning customers, not just building features, and you understand how product strategy connects to revenue growth.
- Ability to influence without authority: establish rapport, build trust, and communicate your product vision persuasively across sales, marketing, engineering, and executive stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills – you can craft compelling narratives for different audiences, from a CTO evaluating an analytics SDK to a CEO reviewing a company roadmap.
- Experience working with international teams across multiple time zones and with large, matrixed organizations.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and competing priorities simultaneously without losing sight of strategic goals.
- Comfortable with ambiguity – able to be flexible, embrace change, and refine strategy as the market and business evolve.
- Ability to quickly absorb technical concepts – you don’t need to write the code, but you need to understand what matters to developers and architects evaluating an embedded analytics platform.
- Independent, proactive, and thorough – you take ownership of outcomes and drive them to resolution.
Benefits:
- Health insurance
- Retirement plans
- Paid time off
- Flexible work arrangements
- Professional development opportunities
