Job Description
NewGen Project Manager at ABB, coordinating transformation projects, budgets, risks and governance. Delivering measurable business outcomes remotely across Switzerland, Czechia, Poland, Germany and the United Kingdom.
Responsibilities:
- Define project planning strategies covering all activities needed for effective project management
- Select appropriate waterfall, agile or hybrid delivery approaches
- Align stakeholders on scope and build project schedules
- Define budgets, resources, timelines and work allocation with stakeholders
- Plan, coordinate and deliver projects within agreed time, scope, cost and quality
- Prioritize tasks and maintain project plans and charters
- Keep stakeholders informed of project progress
- Create scope, acceptance criteria, financial, schedule and risk-plan documentation
- Guide projects through phases and stage-gates
- Ensure activities follow company, program and IS procedures, quality standards and safety standards
- Identify, mitigate and monitor risks, issues and decisions
- Identify opportunities and manage contingencies
- Track progress, costs and resources and address variances early
- Act as trusted stakeholder contact and escalation point
- Manage expectations and maintain project alignment as strategies evolve
- Prepare and drive project and budget approvals
- Define governance structures and supporting committees
- Report performance against plans and business outcomes
- Focus on realizing business value through delivery and implementation
- Ensure smooth project handover and capture lessons learned
- Follow sound methodology, ABB directives and program management standards
Requirements:
- More than 12 years of project management experience, ideally in transformation or change programs
- Experience working in cross-functional environments with many stakeholders
- Proven track record of aligning projects with program objectives and delivering measurable business outcomes
- Strength in project planning and execution
- Experience managing resources and budgets
- Experience managing risks, issues and dependencies
- Clear communication with stakeholders and governance forums
- Ability to build alignment across multiple projects and teams
- Ability to help business areas adopt change
- Recognized certification: PRINCE2 Practitioner, PMP, an Agile/Scrum certification such as CSM or SAFe, or ABB Program PM Certified under the IS Function Standard for IS Project Manager Certification
