Job Description

Public Relations Manager strengthening global communications, media relations, and reputation for a Christian grant-making NGO. Leading executive messaging, crisis communications, and international stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the organisation’s Public Relations, Earned Media and Corporate Communications Strategy
  • Build and maintain relationships with journalists, editors, media outlets, podcast hosts and other key influencers
  • Manage media enquiries, interviews, press releases, media statements, pitches and thought-leadership opportunities
  • Prepare executives for interviews, speaking engagements and major announcements, including speeches, talking points and briefing materials
  • Develop clear and consistent messaging for major initiatives, partnerships, products, reports and organisational developments
  • Lead reputation monitoring and management, identify emerging risks and opportunities, and advise senior leadership
  • Develop and coordinate crisis communications plans, response protocols, stakeholder messaging and crisis preparedness exercises
  • Manage internal communications to keep employees informed, aligned and connected to organisational priorities
  • Coordinate communications with Network Members, Strategic Partners and affiliated organisations
  • Establish communication metrics, dashboards and regular reports to measure visibility, credibility, reputation and strategic impact
  • Manage relationships and performance of external PR agencies and communications partners

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing or a related field
  • At least 5 years’ relevant experience in public relations, corporate communications, media relations or journalism
  • Demonstrated experience leading communications initiatives across multiple countries, regions or global markets
  • Exceptional writing, editing, storytelling and executive communication skills
  • Strong experience in media relations, reputation management, crisis and issues communications
  • Proven ability to develop compelling media stories and secure meaningful earned media opportunities
  • Excellent strategic thinking, stakeholder management, project management and relationship-building skills
  • Sound judgement, discretion, initiative and the ability to work independently in a dynamic global environment
  • Experience in philanthropy, nonprofit services, financial services, fintech, impact investing or international development will be an added advantage
  • Familiarity with PR and media monitoring platforms such as Cision, Meltwater, Muck Rack or similar tools is desirable
  • Willingness to work roughly 1400–2200 EAT and more than 8 hours per day as needed during peak periods
