Job Description

PR and communications strategist auditing competitor citations and mapping credible media opportunities for a regulated consumer-health brand. Delivering a client-ready strategic proposal in four weeks.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a competitor placement and citation audit
  • Run citation teardowns on strong examples to identify what earned citations and what is reproducible
  • Identify whitespace and credible opportunity areas
  • Map placement credibility for priority personas and condition areas across trade, consumer health, clinical, caregiver, and adjacent media
  • Assess publications and platforms for domain authority and citation likelihood
  • Identify sources likely to be surfaced and cited by AI platforms
  • Propose content, placement, and activation options including digital PR, trade press, contributed bylines, and data assets
  • Pressure-test options against feasibility, regulatory reality, and likely Comms objections
  • Write the full strategic proposal with findings, point of view, recommendations, rationale, and open questions
  • Draft supporting narrative language and framing as needed
  • Collaborate with the Executive Producer, Comms strategy oversight lead, and Account Director
  • Anticipate Medical, Legal, and Regulatory review and recommend substantiable approaches
  • Participate in working sessions and revision cycles
  • Deliver a client-ready strategic proposal within four weeks to support stakeholder alignment

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in PR, corporate communications, editorial, or brand narrative writing
  • Availability and responsiveness during core Eastern Time business hours, approximately 9:00 AM–6:00 PM ET
  • Dedicated daytime availability alongside the focused, deadline-driven engagement
  • Ability to turn research and competitive analysis into a defensible strategic recommendation
  • Direct experience writing in healthcare, pharma, or another regulated category
  • Familiarity with MLR or equivalent review processes strongly preferred
  • Track record placing or drafting contributed content, bylines, trade press, and digital PR in credible publications
  • Working familiarity with SEO, GEO, or how AI platforms source and cite content is a strong plus
  • Ability to work independently within a compressed four-week window with a fixed deliverable
  • Clear, concise communication skills and ability to present and defend recommendations to senior client stakeholders
  • LLC a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Portfolio or writing samples required, ideally including a strategic proposal, messaging framework, or placed contributed piece
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application and throughout employment
  • Position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future
