Job Description
PR Manager building Pet Media Group’s first group-wide PR function. Turning pet marketplace data and trust-and-safety insights into stories across seven European markets.
Responsibilities:
- Turn marketplace data into publishable stories about pricing, demand trends, breed rankings, puppy names and buyer preferences
- Create shared data instruments with real-time data and identical core survey questions across markets
- Build and run the group editorial calendar for seven markets around seasonal news hooks
- Own trust and safety transparency reporting covering blocked listings, intercepted scams, protected buyer money and illegal import patterns
- Mine breeder reviews, Trustpilot and support conversations for regional human-interest stories
- Serve as PMG’s press desk and build direct journalist relationships
- Brief and equip country leads and founders as spokespeople with talking points, Q&A, data appendices and interview preparation
- Design and establish PMG’s first dedicated PR function across eight brands and seven markets
- Use AI tools to support data analysis, drafting, localisation and cross-market workflow automation
- Brief agencies and freelancers and hold them accountable
Requirements:
- 5+ years in PR, communications or journalism, preferably in-house
- Personally landed coverage in national or major regional media
- Data journalism experience is a strong plus
- Track record of building stories out of data rather than distributing press releases
- Comfortable using spreadsheets and dashboards to find and sanity-check data
- Daily, active use of AI tools such as Claude or ChatGPT for research, drafting, localisation and workflow automation
- Native-level English, written to a standard requiring no editing before reaching a journalist
- Able to operate as a team of one, briefing agencies and freelancers and holding them accountable
- Experience in a reputation-exposed marketplace or category under regulatory/campaigner scrutiny is preferable
- Experience running consumer surveys with panels or survey tools is preferable
- Knowledge of digital PR fundamentals, including earned links, newsjacking and syndication is preferable
- Hands-on builder mindset and ability to work with clarity, candour and collaboration
