Job Description

AbbVie Regional Sales Director leading neuroscience teams for innovative medicines. Driving sales strategy, coaching managers, and supporting chronic migraine and movement-disorder therapies across the Northeast.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Neuroscience sales performance and professional development for District Managers and Account Specialists
  • Drive regional sales strategy and executional excellence across Chronic Migraine, Focal Spasticity, and Cervical Dystonia indications
  • Achieve or exceed national Neurosciences sales expectations and organizational goals within expense, compliance, and legal guidelines
  • Analyze sales and business execution, identify business needs, and develop and execute improvement plans
  • Build a culture focused on performance and inclusion
  • Develop, inspire, manage, retain, and promote team members while mentoring across the organization
  • Collaborate with external customers and internal marketing and field teams to address customer needs and improve sales performance
  • Manage the budget and meet national productivity and administrative requirements
  • Provide feedback to brand partners and departments on marketing and IBT initiative execution and reception
  • Assess and coach anatomy, procedure, and injection training
  • Cultivate relationships with physicians, key opinion leaders, hospitals, and other customers through live engagements and regional meetings
  • Ensure promotional, sales, and marketing initiatives are executed in accordance with AbbVie’s ethical and compliance standards

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or a business-related field preferred, or relevant and equivalent industry experience required
  • Successful sales management experience and a positive track record leading teams in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Commercial pharmaceutical industry experience, including physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, and marketing
  • Ability to set a vision and strategy and build and inspire individuals and teams
  • Project management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to network and partner across functional areas
  • Ability to satisfy applicable health care industry representative credentialing requirements and remain eligible for facility access
  • Minimum of 10 years total business experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical, and/or biotechnology preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years management experience with high reimbursement components preferred
  • Documented history of driving team performance and coaching individuals for growth and development
  • Experience selling or managing Buy & Bill, Specialty Pharmacy, Medicare Part B, and Medicare Part D products highly preferred
  • Experience selling or managing within headache and/or movement-disorder subspecialties preferred
  • Proven market/business planning and strategy execution experience
  • Ability to learn and communicate anatomical, procedural, and clinical information
  • Ability to commit to 50–75% overnight travel and travel adequately for regional commitments, conferences, training, meetings, and other events
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet safe driving requirements
  • Ability and willingness to meet hospital credentialing and vaccination requirements
  • Ability to drive a personal auto, company car or truck, or powered material-handling equipment
