Job Description
Senior BI Engineer advancing Humana’s healthcare provider network analytics. Building Databricks DataMarts, mining claims data, and modeling vendor partnership financial impacts.
Responsibilities:
- Solve complex business issues using internal and external data to provide insights to decision-makers
- Report to an Associate Director Strategy Advancement
- Support the ancillary Provider contracting team
- Collaborate with customers using a consultative approach
- Act as a key resource and liaison across Humana functional areas
- Build productive cross-functional relationships
- Maintain the existing ancillary provider DataMart
- Create the next-generation DataMart in the Databricks environment
- Extract historical data and perform data mining
- Develop insights to drive provider network strategy
- Leverage provider DataMart, claims, and membership tables
- Develop tools and automate processes to model financial implications of vendor partnerships
- Deliver analytics and insights supporting higher-quality, lower-cost care and improved health outcomes
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 5+ years of demonstrated healthcare analytical experience
- 2+ years of SQL experience
- 2+ years of experience in Databricks
- Advanced experience working with big and complex data sets within large organizations
- Experience with stakeholder identification and relationship building
- Experience working across an organization on matters significant to senior leadership
- Ability to work from a dedicated space without ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI/HIPAA information
- Home internet with at least 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speed
- Preferred: Advanced Degree
- Preferred: Experience presenting complex concepts to senior leadership
- Preferred: SAS, Python, R, or other languages
- Preferred: Building dashboards with Power BI or similar data visualization tools
- Preferred: Understanding healthcare membership, claims, cost, utilization, price, mix, risk adjustment, and financial and quality metrics
