Job Description

Senior BI Engineer building healthcare analytics, data models, and Power BI reporting for Humana Provider Programs. Improving clinical documentation insights and decision-making.

Responsibilities:

  • Solve complex business problems using data from internal and external sources to provide insights for decision-makers
  • Determine the tools, technologies, applications, and practices used to collect, integrate, analyze, and present raw data
  • Own reporting and analytics capabilities for Provider Programs related to a portfolio offering
  • Evaluate existing capabilities and lead their transformation into a more uniform and structured future state
  • Develop healthcare analytics visualizations based on stakeholder requests and intake
  • Apply data warehouse, cloud and BI architecture, and visualization techniques collaboratively with teammates
  • Design, build, and maintain analytical solutions supporting Provider Programs
  • Build and maintain robust data models, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and performance optimization
  • Integrate data from multiple sources, including SQL databases, Excel, and cloud platforms
  • Maintain documentation for solutions, including data models, workflows, and user guides
  • Collaborate strategically and use data to advance the business and provide next best actions
  • Deliver analytics-driven and interoperable solutions supporting physician patient care and clinical documentation accuracy

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and 6 or more years of technical experience in data analysis OR Master's degree and 4 or more years of experience
  • 2 or more years of project leadership experience
  • Advanced experience in Databricks and/or other data systems
  • Experience with Power BI and/or other data visualization tools
  • Advanced experience working with big and complex data sets within large organizations
  • Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and translate requirements between business, project management and technical projects or programs
  • Experience analyzing data to solve a wide variety of business problems and create data visualizations that drive strategic direction
  • Expertise in data mining, forecasting, simulation, and/or predictive modeling
  • Proficiency in understanding Healthcare related data
  • Proficiency in verbal and written communication to senior and executive leadership
  • Demonstrated excellence in problem solving/critical thinking
  • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous time-sensitive deliverables
  • Proficiency in compiling, analyzing, and interpreting data trends
  • Self-provided internet service with at least 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speed
  • Ability to work from a dedicated space without ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information
  • Advanced experience in SQL Server, Azure, Databricks, and other data systems
  • Experience creating analytics solutions for various healthcare sectors
  • Experience with Stars or HEDIS
