Job Description
Senior BI & Data Engineer building scalable data architecture and reporting for inexogy, Germany’s independent smart-metering provider. Developing Power BI solutions and leading BI capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Build the future BI and reporting landscape and actively shape the target state, architecture, technologies and tools.
- Design a scalable data architecture and central data foundation, taking into account potential integration into the group parent’s data warehouse.
- Build and enhance data models and automated ETL/ELT processes to integrate and prepare various data sources.
- Develop modern reporting and BI solutions for management, controlling and business units using Power BI or alternative technologies.
- Establish in-house BI capabilities and structures, and coordinate and potentially take over development work delivered by external partners.
- Translate business requirements from controlling, finance and other departments into sustainable technical solutions and collaborate with IT and management.
- Prospectively build and provide technical leadership for the BI team, including task prioritization, standards development and professional development of BI staff.
Requirements:
- Degree in Business Informatics, Computer Science, Data Science, Industrial Engineering or a comparable qualification.
- Several years of professional experience in Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, Data Analytics or a comparable role.
- Very good knowledge of SQL and relational databases, as well as experience with data modeling, data warehouse concepts and ETL/ELT processes.
- Experience with modern BI and reporting tools, ideally Power BI and DAX; knowledge of the Microsoft Azure environment is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills and the ability to design technical solutions holistically, in a scalable way and with future integrations in mind.
- A strong communicator with presence and assertiveness, high personal responsibility, pronounced business understanding and enthusiasm for taking on functional responsibility, advocating your positions and mentoring other BI colleagues.
