Job Description
Senior Data and BI Manager leading enterprise data warehousing, Power BI, predictive analytics, and client insights for Milliman’s insurance solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Lead ongoing improvement of the enterprise data warehouse environment
- Provide technical leadership by vetting emerging technologies, establishing direction, and enforcing best practices for data warehouse, BI, and reporting initiatives
- Oversee and directly participate in designing, developing, and maintaining Power BI dashboards, reports, and visualizations
- Directly manage and mentor one or more team members
- Partner with data science and analytics teams to understand predictive model and AI outputs and communicate results to clients and stakeholders
- Gather business requirements and translate them into reporting, dashboard, and data solutions
- Ensure data accuracy, quality, consistency, and governance across reporting and analytics platforms
- Present findings, trends, and performance insights to clients and internal leadership in a clear, business-focused manner
- Collaborate with IT, analytics, operations, and business leaders to support data-driven decision-making
- Occasional work-related travel for practice meetings, company events, and industry conferences may be required
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business, Statistics, or related field
- 6+ years of experience in data warehousing, business intelligence, analytics, or enterprise reporting
- Strong experience managing and working in an Azure Fabric enterprise data warehouse environment
- Advanced technical and managerial experience with Power BI, including dashboard development, reporting, data modeling, and visualization best practices
- Experience with Azure SQL Database and Fabric Data Warehouse
- Practical experience with Azure Entra ID, Azure DevOps including repos, pipelines, and CI/CD, and Microsoft Teams
- Strong knowledge of T-SQL
- Strong knowledge of data integration and ETL/ELT processes
- Strong knowledge of data warehouse schema design, including fact and dimension tables
- Strong knowledge of database performance tuning
- Experience working with teams developing predictive analytics, machine learning, and AI solutions
- Familiarity with data governance and reporting standards
- Ability to lead multiple concurrent projects, manage priorities, and work across technical and business teams
- Strong client relationship, presentation, and communication skills
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future immigration support or sponsorship from Milliman
