Job Description

Gartner Senior Director Analyst developing emerging-technology research and advice for higher education and research institutions. Engaging executives through insights, presentations, and client advisory work.

Responsibilities:

  • Create innovative, thought-provoking, highly leveraged must-have insights content
  • Develop insights and ideas through thought leadership and provide compelling, actionable approaches to client needs
  • Conduct in-depth analysis to identify root causes of client barriers and reframe thinking to drive strategy
  • Establish insights positions across a team of analysts
  • Provide independent insights to Gartner leaders and influence research agendas
  • Research, analyze, and predict market trends and shifts
  • Provide actionable advice to clients and prospects through virtual or face-to-face interactions
  • Create and deliver presentation materials for Gartner events, conferences, and client briefings
  • Support sales by serving as the voice of the market and driving client engagement
  • Perform high-quality and timely peer review of content
  • Represent Gartner insights, methodology, and strategy as an industry expert
  • Participate in innovation, ideation, and research discussions
  • Collaborate with peers in the Insights community and across teams
  • Identify research process improvements and develop new processes
  • Mentor and coach junior team members
  • Help clients engage regularly with Gartner insights and interactions

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; graduate degree preferred
  • 12+ years of relevant field or industry experience
  • Technology leadership in academia or technology advisory experience involving complex research and academic institutions
  • Strong understanding of existing and emerging AI approaches, innovative IT strategy, data management, architecture, and stakeholder engagement
  • Demonstrable executive presence and ability to establish credibility with executives and stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines while producing high-quality deliverables
  • Excellent research and writing ability
  • Strong written and verbal proficiency, analytical, and presentation skills
  • Ability to engage clients and respond effectively to questions
  • Proficiency in analyzing and synthesizing data, applying patterns and frameworks, and defending conclusions
  • Ability to explain complex concepts concisely and simply
  • Subject matter expertise and comfort presenting at large- and small-scale speaking engagements
  • Strong business and financial acumen
  • Deep knowledge of the global and competitive landscape within the subject area
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams in a multicultural global team
  • Learning agility and ability to navigate highly matrixed environments
  • Ability to represent Gartner's research methodology and strategies effectively at all levels
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25%, where applicable
