Job Description
Business Automation Developer at Kaufland automating complex business processes with n8n and optimizing AI agents. Collaborating cross-functionally to enhance automation and AI capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- You automate complex business processes reliably and maintainably using tools such as n8n
- You design, create, and optimize AI agents using modern LLMs and associated tooling (prompting, retrieval, evaluation/guardrails, RAG)
- You partner with business teams to analyze, redesign, and automate new and existing processes from discovery through rollout
- You collaborate with our Center of Excellence for Automation to propose, prioritize, and lead initiatives that advance our automation and AI platforms
- You work cross-functionally with technical experts, product managers, and business stakeholders to share best practices, document patterns, and enable self-service automation across the company
Requirements:
- Comfortable scripting in JavaScript for n8n Function nodes or with equivalent programming experience (foundational programming skills, Python experience, etc.)
- Experience with automation/orchestration tools such as n8n, Zapier, Make, or similar
- Comfortable integrating SaaS applications and internal systems via APIs, webhooks, OAuth, and event-driven patterns
- Proficient with APIs and data manipulation: JSON, REST, SQL for joins/aggregations, and occasional regex
- Experience with prompt engineering and building AI agents is a plus
- Strong communicator able to explain trade-offs to both business and engineering stakeholders and to produce concise documentation and playbooks
- Enjoy working in an international environment and fluent in English (C1); good German skills (B2) are a plus
