Job Description
Senior software engineer developing and optimizing healthcare analytics software at Cotiviti. Leading data-intensive systems, resolving complex issues, and mentoring engineers.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and improvement of high-quality software modules for the Cotiviti product suite
- Support existing software applications and enhance software components deployed in the Cotiviti product suite
- Collaborate with senior developers, offshore development team members, business owners, project management, and internal stakeholders
- Analyze and resolve complex software issues, including identifying root causes from internal or external customers
- Document application specifications, design, features, and operation before production rollout
- Design and implement solutions that improve performance and availability
- Communicate technical and operational issues to engineering and business leadership with clear recommendations
- Ensure adherence to technology standards and recommend new standards and practices
- Explore innovative improvements to processes and systems
- Identify and evaluate new technologies for integration into the Cotiviti product suite
- Execute appropriate facets of the Cotiviti Software Development Lifecycle with continuous improvement
- Mentor and guide other engineers
- Complete annual performance review goals, special projects, and assigned duties
Requirements:
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of industry experience
- 4+ years of healthcare data experience
- Proficiency in working with large datasets
- 5+ years’ experience with relational databases
- 5+ years’ experience working with ETL processes
- Experience optimizing and tuning SQL/Oracle queries, stored procedures, and triggers
- Advanced understanding of Object-Oriented Analysis and Design
- 5+ years’ experience with MS Access
- 5+ years’ experience with scripting languages: VBScript or PowerShell
- Knowledge of one or more enterprise scheduling tools
- Good written and oral communication skills
- 5+ years’ experience with Java or Python
- 5+ years’ experience with third-party platforms: Appian, Cloudera Hadoop
- 5+ years’ experience with Microsoft SQL Server, HBASE, and Hive databases
- 5+ years’ experience with web services using Java/Spring Boot
- Strong knowledge and application of SAFe agile practices preferred
- Must be able to provide a dedicated, secure work area with reliable high-speed internet
- Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation
