Job Description
Senior Technology Project Manager leading core banking, vendor, and digital transformation projects at fast-growing Luminate Bank. Driving implementations from scope through go-live.
Responsibilities:
- Lead bank technology projects end to end, from intake and scoping through planning, execution, testing, go-live, and post-launch review
- Build and maintain project plans with tasks, owners, dates, and dependencies
- Assign work across business, technology, and vendor teams
- Run kickoffs, working sessions, and status meetings
- Publish weekly status updates, risks, and decisions
- Hold stakeholders and vendors accountable and escalate risks with recommended paths forward
- Manage multiple concurrent projects and unblock stalled work
- Define scope, success criteria, and out-of-scope items and obtain business sign-off
- Manage formal change requests and assess impacts on time, cost, and risk
- Break large initiatives into phased deliveries
- Manage implementations, upgrades, and conversions with Jack Henry and other banking, payments, and fintech providers
- Review statements of work and project plans with Vendor Management
- Coordinate UAT, cutover planning, training, and go-live readiness
- Lead business discovery and document current-state and future-state processes and requirements
- Write functional and technical requirements for vendors and translate vendor responses for the business
- Evaluate configure, buy, or build options and recommend solutions based on trade-offs, cost, and risk
- Partner with Engineering on integrations, proprietary applications, and AI agents using vendor APIs
- Define requirements, acceptance criteria, and priorities for Engineering-built solutions
- Organize stakeholders, clarify roles and decision owners, and manage deadlines
- Improve SDLC, documentation, change management, release planning, intake, and capacity planning
- Maintain current, audit-ready project documentation, requirements, and decisions
- Identify and champion AI-enabled tools for requirements, ticket writing, and project management
- Coordinate during high-priority incidents and critical release events affecting bank systems
Requirements:
- 5+ years of project management in banking or financial services technology
- Experience leading third-party vendor implementations to go-live
- Hands-on experience with core banking systems
- Jack Henry (SilverLake) and MANTL strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of deposits, lending, payments, digital banking, BSA/AML, Reg E, and vendor risk
- Proven ability to set scope, prevent scope creep, and deliver on schedule
- Strong business analysis skills, including discovery, process mapping, requirements, and UAT
- Technical fluency with APIs, integrations, data flows, and system configuration
- Ability to assign work, follow up, and hold peers, business leaders, and vendors accountable
- Clear written and verbal communication with executives, business users, and technical teams
- Experience with core conversions, digital banking, or LOS implementations preferred
- Experience with Agile delivery and Azure DevOps, SharePoint, Jira, or GitHub Projects preferred
- Exposure to data platforms, automation, or AI agent use cases in banking preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field preferred
- Equivalent professional experience in banking technology or technology project leadership will be considered
- PMP, PMI-ACP, CBAP, or equivalent certification is a plus
