Job Description
Solution Architect owning discovery, integration design and delivery governance for Five Sigma’s data-oriented insurance claims platform. Feeding customer insights into scalable product enhancements.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with Sales to validate solution approach before commercial commitment, including technical fit, implementation complexity, risks, assumptions and dependencies
- Bring business and technical depth to solution demos and contribute to Statements of Work and implementation scoping
- Lead discovery workshops with customer stakeholders and understand business processes and operating models
- Map customer workflows to Five Sigma capabilities and design target solution architectures
- Define boundaries between standard product, configuration, professional services, product enhancements and partner responsibilities
- Own the Solution Design Document, including business context, end-to-end solution flow, organizational and line-of-business models, coverage and product taxonomy, integration architecture, non-functional requirements and roadmap alignment
- Own integration architecture decisions for integrated systems, including protocols, data exchange patterns, directionality and authentication
- Define non-functional posture covering throughput, SLAs, security, compliance, feature flags, availability and disaster recovery
- Align stakeholders before implementation begins
- Clarify solution intent and resolve architectural questions during delivery
- Review implementations against agreed designs and evaluate change requests for alignment
- Capture implementation learnings and recurring customer requests and feed them back into Product
Requirements:
- End-to-end P&C claims lifecycle knowledge, from FNOL through settlement, including reserves, reinsurance, subrogation and salvage
- Knowledge of policy structures, including coverage, peril and incident distinctions, limits, deductibles, endorsements and bordereau reporting
- Regulatory context in at least one market: FCA (UK), APRA (Australia), state DOI (US), GDPR/DPA
- Exposure to customer archetypes including Lloyd's coverholders, MGAs, TPAs, direct insurers, InsurTechs and brokers
- Integration architecture experience across REST, SOAP, webhooks, event streams and file-based patterns
- Ability to independently make synchronous/asynchronous, push/pull and protocol decisions
- API design fundamentals including OpenAPI/Swagger, authentication patterns, idempotency and error handling
- Configuration-first mindset, including knowing when to configure, request product enhancement or use custom work
- Familiarity with modern SaaS architecture, multi-tenancy, feature flags and role-based access control
- Ability to facilitate two-hour discovery workshops with 5–15 mixed-role attendees and produce actionable output
- Ability to present solution designs to C-level stakeholders and defend architectural choices
- Strong written documentation discipline for engineering and business audiences
- 7+ years in solution architecture, technical consulting or hands-on delivery of SaaS insurance or claims platforms
- Prior ownership of multi-workstream customer implementations, such as payments, policy integration, document management and reporting
- Track record of feeding customer patterns into Product and influencing roadmap through customer work
- Comfortable working with Sales during pre-sales and Delivery during execution
