Job Description
Solutions Engineer delivering customer integrations and internal tooling for Onfleet’s last-mile delivery platform. Building API- and webhook-based systems with TypeScript, Node.js, and Python.
Responsibilities:
- Own approved customer projects end to end, from requirements gathering and solution design through building, testing, shipping, and production support
- Build and improve internal tooling for Onfleet teams
- Design and implement solutions primarily in TypeScript/Node.js and Python, with agent-assisted work in Go and Rust where required
- Develop against Onfleet’s APIs, webhooks, and integration surfaces
- Debug issues across the boundary between Onfleet’s platform and customers’ systems
- Communicate with customers throughout delivery, including setting expectations, reporting progress, handling scope questions, and explaining technical decisions
- Build and continually improve agentic development workflows
- Verify and review personal and agent-produced code using unit and integration tests
- Work in a Jira sprint cadence, scoping and ticketing projects, estimating, communicating progress, and following through on commitments
- Support and troubleshoot deployed Solutions builds in production
- Identify recurring patterns across custom builds and flag productization opportunities
Requirements:
- 4–6+ years of hands-on professional software engineering experience building, shipping, and operating production-quality systems
- Personally owned features or projects through deployment and production support
- 2+ years of professional experience with TypeScript/JavaScript and Node.js
- Working proficiency in Python
- Experience delivering code via cloud environments such as GCP and AWS
- Fluency with HTTP APIs and webhooks, including designing, consuming, and debugging integrations
- Customer-facing delivery experience translating customer requirements into solution designs and communicating through delivery
- Ability to write requirements or scoping documents for Product or Engineering review
- Experience scoping, ticketing, and delivering projects in Jira or an equivalent sprint tool
- Experience creating software using disciplined agentic workflows and critically reviewing generated output
- Hands-on experience writing unit and integration tests
- CI pipeline ownership, including creating, configuring, or troubleshooting GitHub Actions or equivalent
- Experience working in an international team whose common working language is English
- Excellent written and spoken English, roughly equivalent to C1
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Must be based in Latin America
- Ability to work core hours within US Eastern Time (EST)
- Nice to have: Solutions, implementation, integration, or technical consulting experience; Go or Rust exposure; SQL and data-work proficiency; logistics, delivery, or last-mile experience
