Job Description
Lending operations specialist processing loan transactions, documentation, and service requests for BMO, a Canadian personal and commercial bank. Supporting reconciliations, regulatory controls, escalations, and process improvements.
Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day delivery of critical lending operations processes, including loan administration and servicing activities
- Execute payments, transactions, service requests, administrative activities, and fulfillment of stakeholder inquiries within service level agreements
- Gather and format data into regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards
- Support change management execution and sustainment activities
- Organize work information to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Process service requests, transactions, and queries within applicable service level agreements
- Distribute, collect, file, and manage documentation and information
- Provide problem-solving support and handle escalations
- Process, review, and verify loan information and documentation
- Check and reconcile information and documentation; identify and resolve discrepancies
- Escalate issues according to guidelines
- Communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
- Collaborate on development and implementation of new processes and systems and improvements to existing ones
- Maintain understanding of regulatory requirements and operational risks
- Support development of tools and delivery of training
- Analyze issues and determine next steps
- Apply BMO’s Risk Management Framework, risk culture, approved risk appetite, policies, laws, and regulations
Requirements:
- Typically 2–3 years of relevant experience
- Post-secondary degree in a related field is desirable, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Good knowledge and experience using relevant systems and technology
- Good knowledge of the business unit’s products, services, processes, and controls
- Good knowledge of business risk and regulatory requirements
- Good prioritization skills
- Good PC skills, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Specialized knowledge
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good organization skills
- Good collaboration and team skills
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Fluency in French and English required to support clients and team members inside and/or outside Quebec
