Job Description

Specialty Operations Pharmacy Technician supporting pharmacists in medication preparation and handling inbound member calls. Ensuring adherence to operational processes for healthy outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • The Specialty Operations Pharmacy Technician 3 Disease Management Team supports Pharmacists in Specialty Rx medication preparation by dispensing Specialty Rx medications.
  • Performs advanced administrative/operational/customer support duties that require independent initiative and judgment.
  • May apply intermediate mathematical skills.
  • Supports inbound member and provider calls.
  • Contact physicians for prescriptions clarification and may enter prescription orders into the system.
  • Provide education and resources for new members demonstrating excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Prioritize requests by interpreting and adapting to procedures, processes and techniques.
  • Exercise good judgement and depth of knowledge of administrative processes and organizational knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Must have an active unrestricted State Board of Pharmacy Technician in the state of Arizona, Ohio or Texas without disciplinary action.
  • Must have National Certification: PTCB (CphT) or ExCPT
  • Minimum 1 year customer service experience working in a health services or pharmacy setting.
  • Basic Proficiency using the following Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Knowledge navigating multiple systems and platforms with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve general technical difficulties in a remote environment.
  • Previous Specialty Pharmacy experience (Oncology, Neuromuscular, Pulmonary) Preferred
  • Bilingual English and Spanish - You may be required to take the Interagency Language Rating (ILR) test as provided by the Federal Government.
