Job Description
Staff Backend Software Engineer building distributed, AI-powered revenue infrastructure for Outreach, an agentic AI platform for revenue teams. Leading cloud-native systems, data pipelines, and ML integrations at scale.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the architecture, design, and delivery of distributed cloud-native applications capable of high concurrency and demanding real-time data needs
- Develop strategy and hands-on solutions for scalable data pipelines, streaming analytics, and ML/AI workflow integration
- Collaborate with data science, product, and engineering partners to ship intelligent, complex product features
- Set and promote engineering standards for code quality, security, and operational excellence
- Nurture automation and continuous improvement
- Diagnose and eliminate performance bottlenecks and proactively address reliability risks
- Mentor peers, review code and architectures, and foster rapid learning
- Decompose legacy systems into SOA/microservices, resolve technical debt, and evolve architecture for scale
- Take end-to-end ownership of major initiatives from planning through impact
- Steer system evolution, guarantee performance under high loads, and shape delivery and technical direction
Requirements:
- 7+ years of strong backend development experience
- Demonstrated excellence designing and operating large-scale distributed systems with cloud service-oriented architecture
- Proven leadership in fast-paced environments, setting standards, and inspiring technical teams to exceed delivery goals
- Mastery in backend programming; Go required
- Python, Java, or Ruby is a plus
- Hands-on experience with distributed data platforms including Kafka, RabbitMQ, and NoSQL
- Experience building APIs and analytics/data infrastructure
- Experience deploying ML algorithms in production
- Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration skills
