Job Description

Strategic Accounts Manager leading national insurance agency partnerships, P&L, and multi-year growth. Driving digital integration, profitability, retention, and executive relationships for Mercury Insurance.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead enterprise-level growth with national carrier agency relationships and national strategic accounts, including digital agencies, carrier agencies, brokers, and jumbo agencies
  • Execute the end-to-end partnership lifecycle from onboarding through annual business planning and objective setting
  • Drive multi-year portfolio expansion, profitability, retention, and best-in-class agent experience
  • Participate in cross-functional execution with API integration, Funnel Optimization, Underwriting, Product, Marketing, and Experience teams
  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle for national carrier agency relationships and national digital agencies
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives that remove friction, improve quoting and placement throughput, and strengthen Mercury’s value proposition
  • Serve as the point of partnership escalation for assigned strategic accounts
  • Steward brand, compliance, and long-term partnership health
  • Execute multi-year growth plans with targets for premium, product mix, retention, and profitability
  • Own the P&L of managed accounts within the assigned territory
  • Lead negotiations with multi-million/billion dollar organizations and C-suite stakeholders
  • Establish quarterly business reviews with partner executives and align on goals, leading indicators, and mitigation plans
  • Improve speed-to-bind, discount and packaging visibility, and underwriting responsiveness
  • Drive adoption of digital integrations and prioritized programs to increase partner throughput
  • Collaborate with Product, Underwriting, and Pricing to improve Mercury’s competitive position
  • Provide market feedback to inform roadmap and segmentation strategies
  • Review territory forecasts and prospect pipeline health
  • Define leading indicators such as quote volume, hit ratio, bundle rate, and premium per policy
  • Implement remediation plans and establish national account governance
  • Ensure adherence to policies, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements
  • Uphold reporting accuracy and auditable processes
  • Model and reinforce Mercury’s Core Values

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Completion of CPCU, CIC, or advanced degree preferred
  • 7+ years in P&C insurance distribution, carrier strategic accounts, or enterprise channel leadership with measurable growth and profitability outcomes, or equivalent experience
  • Proven success leading executive relationships with national brokers, top independents, and digital distributors
  • Experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives
  • Strong command of sales economics and levers, including segmentation, product mix, underwriting responsiveness, incentives, and account management
  • Exceptional communication, influence without authority, and change leadership skills
  • Executive presence to lead negotiations with multi-million/billion dollar organizations and expertise in complex C-suite conversations
  • Analytical skill set and capabilities to drive growth and profit opportunities with strategic accounts
  • Executive communication, collaboration, and influencing skills
  • Understanding of digital integration
  • Ability to comply with Mercury policies, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to work from anywhere in the United States for most positions
  • Travel approximately 25–45% to partner locations, events, and internal hubs
