Job Description

Supplier capacity manager standardizing supplier assessment and development across ABB’s global electrical switchgear factories. Driving capacity ramp-up, risk mitigation, and cross-functional supplier improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deploy a standardized external supplier capacity development approach across ELDS MV Switchgear Business Line factories
  • Identify, prioritize, assess, and develop critical external suppliers to grow capacity and meet mid- and long-term material needs
  • Develop and standardize supplier identification, prioritization, assessment, and development methodologies
  • Lead supplier prioritization using risk profiles and alternative sourcing potential
  • Develop supplier assessment and development tools, including self-assessment surveys and on-site audit playbooks
  • Orchestrate methodology rollout across factories, ensuring consistent implementation and knowledge sharing
  • Support factory teams in assessing supplier readiness and creating milestone-based supplier development roadmaps
  • Lead cross-factory coordination and engage global suppliers
  • Develop KPIs and consolidate findings and supplier development roadmaps
  • Track roadmap implementation and confirm supplier readiness for capacity ramp-up
  • Communicate and align with factories, procurement, supply chain, and quality teams
  • Identify, escalate, and resolve critical business-line-wide supplier capacity risks
  • Develop and maintain training materials and guidance documentation
  • Drive continuous improvement of capacity evaluation methodology
  • Coordinate cross-functional working groups and project teams
  • Build relationships with external suppliers and support providers/auditors
  • Provide regular reporting, progress reviews, coaching, and stakeholder alignment
  • Ensure compliance with ABB values, code of conduct, HSE requirements, and applicable regulations

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain management
  • Solid understanding of supplier dynamics, sourcing strategies, and capacity risk assessment
  • Experience working in a complex multinational environment
  • Experience leading multi-country projects in a global or regional role
  • Previous experience in the energy sector
  • Experience in data analysis and reporting
  • Ability to interpret complex datasets, develop KPIs, and translate findings into actionable insights
  • Experience in process development and standardization, including designing and rolling out methodologies, tools, and frameworks across multiple sites or organizations
  • Experience in project management and cross-functional coordination
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously and deliver results in a complex, matrixed environment
  • Experience in quality and compliance management
  • Familiarity with audit processes, supplier assessment tools, and regulatory requirements
  • Background in operations and capacity planning
  • Hands-on knowledge of manufacturing environments and assessing and developing supplier production capabilities
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across different geographies and functions
  • Problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
