Job Description
Vice President of Post Closing at eLEND overseeing correspondent loan purchase reviews and ensuring compliance and quality across operations.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee correspondent loan purchase reviews across delegated and non-delegated channels.
- Serve as the final decision-maker on loan purchase eligibility, suspense conditions, and defect resolution.
- Ensure all loans meet investor, agency, regulatory, and internal policy requirements prior to purchase and delivery.
- Provide executive oversight across post-closing operations, including collateral, final documents, MERS compliance, and custodian relationships.
- Act as the primary escalation point for complex loan reviews, documentation issues, and post-closing challenges.
- Partner with Capital Markets to align on loan purchase decisions, delivery timelines, and investor expectations.
- Collaborate with Compliance and Legal to interpret guidelines, correspondent agreements, and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze correspondent review data to identify trends, systemic risks, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Lead performance and quality discussions with correspondent lenders, including findings, remediation, and expectations.
- Support internal audits, regulatory exams, and investor due diligence efforts tied to correspondent production.
- Develop and enhance policies, procedures, and job aids governing correspondent review and post-closing workflows.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and direction to teams supporting correspondent review and post-closing operations.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of progressive mortgage operations experience, with deep exposure to correspondent lending.
- Proven leadership experience managing correspondent loan purchase reviews across delegated and non-delegated channels.
- Strong post-closing expertise, including collateral management, final documents, MERS processes, and custodian oversight.
- Comprehensive knowledge of investor and agency guidelines, including FNMA, FHLMC, GNMA, FHA, VA, and USDA.
- Demonstrated experience handling escalations involving complex or high-risk loan scenarios.
- Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate risk, trends, and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Advanced analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to influence cross-functional partners and drive alignment across teams.
- Experience working with loan origination systems, document platforms, and MERS (preferred).
- Background in audit, quality control, or operational risk management (preferred).
