Job Description

Video Editor and Social Media Manager focusing on storytelling through video content. Editing for platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok with social media management duties.

Responsibilities:

  • Edit short-form and long-form video content to a high standard — clean cuts, strong pacing, and polished delivery every time
  • Work primarily in Adobe Premiere Pro and/or Final Cut Pro — proficiency in at least one is required, both is a strong plus
  • Apply color grading, audio balancing, transitions, motion graphics, and visual effects as needed
  • Edit content optimized for multiple platforms including Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, and LinkedIn
  • Maintain consistent brand look and feel across all video outputs
  • Incorporate feedback efficiently and turn around revisions quickly without sacrificing quality
  • Organize and manage raw footage, project files, and assets in a clean, retrievable file structure
  • Create accurate, well-timed, and visually appealing captions and subtitles for all video content
  • Style captions to match brand aesthetics — font, size, placement, color, and animation all matter
  • Understand the difference between captions that serve accessibility and captions that drive engagement — and deliver both
  • Edit and clean up auto-generated captions to ensure accuracy and readability
  • Write and format social media post captions that complement the video and drive action
  • Manage content scheduling across social media platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn
  • Use scheduling tools such as Later, Buffer, Hootsuite, or Meta Business Suite to plan and publish content on time
  • Maintain a content calendar and coordinate with the team to ensure consistent, on-brand posting
  • Format and adapt video content for platform-specific dimensions, aspect ratios, and length requirements
  • Monitor post performance and provide basic analytics reports on reach, engagement, and views
  • Stay current on platform algorithm changes, trending formats, and best practices for each channel
  • Work closely with the creative team to understand content goals and deliver on the vision
  • Provide input on content formats, trends, and ideas that could perform well on social
  • Flag when raw footage needs reshoots or additional assets to meet quality standards
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines consistently

Requirements:

  • Strong, demonstrable video editing skills — a portfolio or reel is required for consideration
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and/or Final Cut Pro
  • Excellent captioning skills — both technical (timing, accuracy) and creative (style, engagement)
  • Experience managing social media scheduling for a brand, creator, or business
  • Understanding of content formats and best practices across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, and LinkedIn
  • Strong eye for detail — you notice when a cut is off by half a second or a caption is misaligned
  • Reliable high-speed internet and a capable editing setup to handle video files remotely
  • Excellent time management and the ability to deliver quality work on deadline
  • Proficiency in both Adobe Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro
  • Experience with Adobe After Effects or motion graphics for title cards, transitions, and animations
  • Familiarity with DaVinci Resolve or other professional editing tools
  • Experience with scheduling platforms such as Later, Buffer, Hootsuite, or Sprout Social
  • Background in content creation, influencer marketing, or brand social media management
  • Ability to write compelling social media captions in English with strong tone and voice
