Job Description

Virtual Sales Account Executive selling Splunk’s security and observability software to U.S. public-sector customers. Prospecting, managing sales cycles, forecasting opportunities, and exceeding revenue goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow up with inbound leads and provide status updates through the company CRM system
  • Conduct outbound prospecting and lead generation
  • Qualify leads and schedule product demos
  • Build and foster client relationships through personalized contact and understanding client needs
  • Communicate the value of products and services
  • Forecast opportunities accurately based on realistic assessments
  • Meet or exceed assigned revenue goals
  • Partner with field sales representatives across geographies and territories
  • Support attendance at Splunk Lives, the National Users Conference, regional trade shows, and other field marketing events
  • Sell Splunk’s security and observability software platform to enterprise customers

Requirements:

  • At least one year of sales experience
  • Experience selling enterprise IT solutions such as BI, data analytics, security software, risk management software, or networking performance (preferred)
  • Previous experience working in a software company (preferred)
  • Experience developing and cultivating new business and managing the entire sales cycle from lead generation to close (preferred)
  • Proven track record of exceeding annual sales quotas (preferred)
  • Technical experience using CRM systems, Word, Excel, and Salesforce (preferred)
  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks while consistently meeting deadlines (preferred)
