Job Description

VP of Engineering Staffing responsible for driving revenue growth and managing a high-performing team at Onward Search. Partnering with sales and recruiting to deliver exceptional client outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the overall performance of the Engineering Staffing practice, including revenue, delivery, and team effectiveness
  • Drive growth through close partnership with business development and sales leadership on key accounts and opportunities
  • Support client-facing strategy by participating in discovery, solution design, pricing, and staffing recommendations
  • Lead and mentor recruiting and account teams to ensure consistent delivery quality and candidate control
  • Establish and monitor KPIs related to pipeline health, fill ratios, client satisfaction, and recruiter productivity
  • Oversee client relationships as an escalation point and ensure successful execution across engagements
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing accounts through multi-role, multi-team, or long-term staffing solutions
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Finance, and HR to support operational efficiency and scale
  • Stay current on engineering hiring trends, talent availability, and client demand to guide staffing strategy

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in engineering or technical staffing
  • 3+ years in a leadership role
  • Strong understanding of engineering talent markets (software, infrastructure, product, manufacturing, or related disciplines)
  • Experience leading recruiting and delivery teams in a KPI-driven environment
  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with sales on complex or high-value client needs
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
