Job Description

Home-based Accounting Assistant handling general accounting, payables, receivables, and reporting. Supporting U.S. small and medium-sized businesses through DCX’s Philippines-based BPO services.

Responsibilities:

  • Enter data and ensure the accuracy of financial information in accounting software
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation
  • Assist with day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries
  • Monitor and track company expenses and budgets
  • Process invoices, payments, and expense reports
  • Prepare weekly check runs based on cash flow
  • Ensure efficient and accurate posting of invoice transactions upon client order completion
  • Make collection contacts and issue past-due notices and statements
  • Communicate with vendors, suppliers, and customers to resolve billing and payment issues
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Support preparation of financial statements and related financial reports
  • Provide administrative support to the finance team as needed
  • Perform tasks analogous to the preceding

Requirements:

  • Highly proficient communicator in both spoken and written English
  • Strong ability to prioritize tasks and function well in a fast-paced, sometimes high-pressure environment
  • Sound judgment and ability to analyze and resolve financial discrepancies
  • Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, suppliers, and clients while maintaining professionalism
  • Knowledge of accounting regulations, procedures, and best practices
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, financial management, or a related field
  • One (1) to three (3) years of General Accounting experience or equivalent
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills
  • Proficiency in most Microsoft Office Applications, databases, and accounting software
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel, pivot tables, advanced formulas, etc.
  • Knowledge of accounting software and tools, such as QuickBooks, SAP, or other relevant software
  • In-depth understanding of accounts payable/receivable principles, accounting standards, and account reconciliation
  • Previous working experience as an offshore staff member is highly advantageous
