Job Description
Apparel and merchandise manager advancing GS1 standards across marketplaces, compliance, and supply chains. Supporting global member organisations across apparel, toys, electronics, cosmetics, and other sectors.
Responsibilities:
- Research, collect and understand how apparel, consumer electronics, toys, furniture, cosmetics and other sectors use GS1 standards and identify opportunities
- Organise and lead working groups with GS1 Member Organisations
- Identify and collect existing marketplace best practices from the GS1 federation
- Produce and deploy relevant assets across the GS1 federation, including regulatory topics related to GS1 standards
- Lead key projects, including value propositions and trainings
- Define and manage deliverable creation, including pitch decks and pilot toolkits
- Monitor media, blogs and forums to identify questions and trends in data management, compliance and supply chain transformation
- Identify and share opportunities or obstacles for new uses of GS1 standards and services
- Develop expertise on key sector players relevant to GS1 standards
- Support training and marketing teams with global best practices and sector recommendations
- Engage with a globally distributed, multicultural team
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree
- 3-8 years’ experience in supply chain, sourcing, ESG, or data management at an apparel and general merchandise goods brand, retailer, solution provider or manufacturer
- Online B2B selling experience or consulting experience within this area will be considered
- Project Management experience
- Market research experience is a plus
- Experience producing assets such as pitch decks, white papers, etc.
- Familiarity with technology and software development lifecycle, e.g., APIs, product architecture and infrastructure, large datasets, back-end web development, is a plus
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance topics including the Ecodesign for Sustainable Product Regulation and other sustainability frameworks impacting the sector
- Must be fluent in English, oral and written
- Strong organisational, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent time management skills and flexibility to cater for commitments across multiple time zones
- Customer-focused and results-oriented
