Job Description

Area Sales Manager driving profitable foodservice product growth for Gellert Global Group, a North American food importer. Building distributor relationships, expanding product distribution, and managing New York territory sales.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to generate revenue, increase market share, and expand product distribution
  • Build, manage, and grow relationships with key distributors and operators
  • Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities
  • Expand product penetration and sales within existing accounts
  • Develop and deliver sales presentations, business reviews, and product demonstrations
  • Present sales performance, market trends, growth opportunities, and strategic recommendations
  • Partner with business development managers, marketing, distributors, and key operators to increase product placement
  • Develop and implement promotional plans and product pricing strategies
  • Monitor and report sales activity and performance against goals
  • Analyze sales performance, market trends, customer insights, and competitive activity
  • Provide research data and customer insights for product development, launches, and business planning
  • Assist with inventory management and forecasting by customer and warehouse
  • Coordinate pricing actions with the Pricing Team
  • Work with Customer Service, Logistics, and Supply Chain teams to ensure order fulfillment and resolve service issues
  • Collaborate with Accounts Receivable on customer deductions, disputes, and credit matters
  • Maintain accurate customer records, sales activity, forecasts, and opportunity pipelines in CRM and reporting systems

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of successful sales experience within the foodservice sales channel or related food industry sales environment
  • Experience in the food importing industry is a plus
  • Entrepreneurial, proactive, and results-oriented approach
  • Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize and make sound decisions in complex environments
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and collaborative with a strong work ethic
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Infor M3 and Salesforce is a plus
  • Willingness and ability to travel at least 50%
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
