Job Description
Area Sales Manager driving profitable foodservice sales for Gellert Global Group’s North American food importing companies. Building distributor relationships, expanding product distribution, and managing the New York territory.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to generate revenue, increase market share, and expand product distribution
- Build, manage, and grow relationships with distributors, operators, chain accounts, manufacturers, and foodservice end users
- Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities
- Expand product penetration and sales within existing accounts
- Deliver sales presentations, business reviews, and product demonstrations
- Present sales performance, market trends, growth opportunities, and strategic recommendations
- Partner with business development, marketing, distributors, and key operators on sales initiatives
- Develop promotional plans and product pricing strategies
- Monitor and report sales activity and performance against goals
- Analyze sales performance, market trends, customer insights, and competitive activity
- Provide research data and customer insights for product development, launches, and business planning
- Assist with inventory management and forecasting
- Coordinate pricing actions with the Pricing Team
- Work with Customer Service, Logistics, and Supply Chain to ensure order fulfillment and resolve service issues
- Collaborate with Accounts Receivable on customer deductions, disputes, and credit matters
- Maintain accurate customer records, sales activity, forecasts, and opportunity pipelines in CRM and reporting systems
Requirements:
- 3–5 years of successful sales experience within the foodservice sales channel or related food industry sales environment
- Experience in the food importing industry is a plus
- Entrepreneurial, proactive, and results-oriented approach
- Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize and make sound decisions in complex environments
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and collaborative with a strong work ethic
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Experience with Infor M3 and Salesforce is a plus
- Willingness and ability to travel at least 50%
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
