Job Description

Bodily injury adjuster investigating, evaluating, and negotiating attorney-represented auto claims for National General. Determining coverage, liability, damages, and settlements while supporting junior adjusters.

Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and resolve attorney-represented bodily injury claims within the Extended Handler Bodily Injury Casualty Unit
  • Confirm facts of loss for complex automobile accidents
  • Determine coverage, liability, and damages
  • Negotiate settlements within assigned authority limits
  • Determine subrogation or fraud potential and appropriate handling for complex cases
  • Apply advanced understanding of company insurance policies, industry practices, and organizational relationships
  • Investigate all aspects of complex auto claims with discretion and independence
  • Review, evaluate, and negotiate moderate to complex injury claims when handled
  • Recognize vehicle body parts and other potential property damage
  • Identify customer needs and address them using appropriate customer service skills
  • Mentor and support junior team members to promote consistent, high-quality claim handling and development

Requirements:

  • Experienced Extended Handler Bodily Injury Adjuster for attorney-represented claims
  • Solid background in bodily injury assessment and coverage investigation
  • Ability to manage a heavy caseload while remaining customer-focused and empathetic
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Candidates in Central or Mountain time zones preferred
  • Familiarity with Colossus is a plus
  • Experience handling Washington State claims is a plus
  • Must possess authorization to work in the United States
  • Individuals who currently hold an active insurance license must terminate all existing appointments prior to onboarding and must not hold outside appointments during employment
  • Applicants with a resident producer license must formally surrender that license when instructed by the licensing team
  • Dedicated, private home workspace free from distractions
