Job Description
Bodily injury adjuster investigating, evaluating, and negotiating attorney-represented auto claims for National General. Determining coverage, liability, damages, and settlements while supporting junior adjusters.
Responsibilities:
- Investigate and resolve attorney-represented bodily injury claims within the Extended Handler Bodily Injury Casualty Unit
- Confirm facts of loss for complex automobile accidents
- Determine coverage, liability, and damages
- Negotiate settlements within assigned authority limits
- Determine subrogation or fraud potential and appropriate handling for complex cases
- Apply advanced understanding of company insurance policies, industry practices, and organizational relationships
- Investigate all aspects of complex auto claims with discretion and independence
- Review, evaluate, and negotiate moderate to complex injury claims when handled
- Recognize vehicle body parts and other potential property damage
- Identify customer needs and address them using appropriate customer service skills
- Mentor and support junior team members to promote consistent, high-quality claim handling and development
Requirements:
- Experienced Extended Handler Bodily Injury Adjuster for attorney-represented claims
- Solid background in bodily injury assessment and coverage investigation
- Ability to manage a heavy caseload while remaining customer-focused and empathetic
- Strong organizational skills
- Candidates in Central or Mountain time zones preferred
- Familiarity with Colossus is a plus
- Experience handling Washington State claims is a plus
- Must possess authorization to work in the United States
- Individuals who currently hold an active insurance license must terminate all existing appointments prior to onboarding and must not hold outside appointments during employment
- Applicants with a resident producer license must formally surrender that license when instructed by the licensing team
