Job Description

Bilingual Immigration Paralegal or Declarations Writer for a New Jersey immigration law firm. Drafting humanitarian case declarations and legal packets for immigrants seeking U.S. legal status.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft and take client declarations
  • Prepare middle-role legal packets, including cover letters, correspondence, and forms, using templates and case details
  • Conduct research and gather information
  • Learn and apply internal processes
  • Communicate with clients
  • Collaborate within the team

Requirements:

  • Bilingual (English-Spanish)
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in humanitarian immigration cases (VAWA, T Visa, U Visa, Family Based)
  • Experience in taking declarations and drafting legal documents
  • Basic knowledge of immigration legal documents, processes, and workflows
  • Demonstrated ability to write clearly, concisely, and accurately
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Spanish and English
  • Strong command of written drafting, grammar, syntax, and legal style
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • Strong client communication skills with clarity, empathy, and professionalism
  • High level of attention to detail and focus on accuracy
  • Ability to quickly learn new processes, workflows, and legal concepts
  • Client-focused mindset with sensitivity to humanitarian cases
  • Analytical thinking and ability to organize facts logically
