Job Description

Bilingual Litigation Paralegal supporting US-based employers’ personal injury and litigation practices. Managing case files, deadlines, discovery, pleadings, and client communications remotely.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and detailed case notes, records, and documentation
  • Coordinate with opposing counsel and opposing counsel’s paralegals regarding scheduling, documentation, and case-related matters
  • Review applicable Rules of Civil Procedure and ensure litigation tasks are completed according to procedural requirements
  • Manage litigation calendars, including depositions, hearings, deadlines, and other important case dates
  • Monitor deadlines and follow up on pending tasks
  • Review case information and documents for accuracy, completeness, and deadline compliance
  • Assist the attorney in progressing litigation matters efficiently
  • Prepare, organize, and maintain litigation files and case documentation
  • Anticipate next steps in active litigation matters and take appropriate action
  • Identify upcoming litigation tasks and prepare necessary documents in advance
  • Follow up on outstanding documentation, discovery, and other case requirements
  • Communicate with clients to obtain detailed and accurate information
  • Assist with preparing discovery and gathering relevant information and documentation from clients
  • Draft petitions, pleadings, disclosures, discovery requests and responses, and other litigation-related documents
  • Handle confidential and sensitive client information professionally and discreetly
  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, case managers, and other legal team members

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Litigation Paralegal or Legal Assistant in a litigation environment
  • Hands-on experience supporting active litigation matters
  • Strong understanding of litigation processes, procedures, and Rules of Civil Procedure
  • Experience drafting petitions, pleadings, disclosures, discovery requests and responses, and other litigation-related documents
  • Experience managing litigation calendars, including depositions, hearings, deadlines, and other important case dates
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word
  • Experience with LexisNexis/Lexis or Westlaw is preferred
  • Familiarity with legal practice management and document management systems is an advantage
  • Comfortable working with digital case files and virtual communication platforms
  • Comfortable communicating with clients to obtain detailed and accurate information
  • Professional and confident when communicating with attorneys, opposing counsel, clients, and other parties
  • Highly detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and precision
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to anticipate the next steps in a litigation matter
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish
  • Strong understanding of litigation procedures and deadlines
  • Ability to draft and review litigation-related documents accurately
  • Strong follow-through and ability to keep outstanding tasks from falling through the cracks
  • Ability to manage multiple active matters and competing deadlines
  • Comfortable working quickly and effectively under pressure
  • Confident working independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong judgment and ability to identify priorities within active litigation files
  • Professional, dependable, and discreet when handling confidential client information
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Collaborative and comfortable working with attorneys, paralegals, case managers, and other members of the legal team
