Job Description
Licensing Paralegal ensuring regulatory compliance for a U.S. healthcare staffing agency and managed service provider. Managing licensure renewals, filings, research, and enterprise compliance initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure organizational compliance with applicable legal standards, including federal and state regulations, licensure, regulatory filings and reporting
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders and external resources
- Plan and execute activities for the Risk team related to licensing and regulatory compliance initiatives, policies, procedures and designated projects
- Develop and maintain working knowledge of business-related compliance and regulatory matters
- Assist with activities and processes ensuring compliance with federal, state and local regulations, accreditation requirements and internal policies and procedures
- Lead or assist with enterprise-level initiatives such as data privacy and state licensure
- Maintain understanding of the organization and subsidiaries' structure, lines of authority and internal audit policies and practices
- Update regulatory or license renewals, healthcare staffing agency licenses, state fees, data calls, surveys, state requests and inquiries
- Represent risk/compliance on special projects, meetings and work products
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- 1+ years of research experience analyzing, summarizing and guiding the implementation of compliance-related regulations
- 1+ year reviewing, implementing, and/or providing regulatory, compliance, certification or licensing compliance within a corporate or organization framework
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- High level of comfort facilitating conversations with organizational leaders
- Highly developed research and analytical skills
- Proficient in MS Office and communication methods such as state portals, software, and electronic communication methods
- Ability to adapt and willingness to work on a variety of matters, initiatives and projects
- Ability to collaborate and build partnerships with several business units in the company
- Extremely detail oriented and ability to work independently
- Highly motivated self-starter who excels in a fast-paced environment with short deadlines
- Suitable combination of education, training/experience accepted
