Job Description

Paralegal Officer providing global legal research, compliance, and administrative support. Helping Meliore Foundation advance climate, energy, and nature initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide generalist legal support to the Legal Team on matters concerning Meliore’s activities globally
  • Triage legal tasks and communicate with requestors
  • Manage and coordinate the Legal team’s service-provider portfolio
  • Coordinate new Legal team procurement with the Procurement Lead
  • Maintain an overview of the Legal budget on behalf of the General Counsel
  • Review, proofread, prepare, and format legal documents
  • Facilitate compliance activities and process routine legal data
  • Follow up on discrepancies to support delivery of legal services
  • Conduct legal research
  • Prepare summaries, guidelines, and presentations based on research findings
  • Support legal, regulatory, and administrative matters on an ad hoc basis
  • Report to the Deputy General Counsel

Requirements:

  • University degree in Law or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of relevant paralegal or legal professional experience
  • Experience managing a high volume of information and documentation in a busy environment
  • Previous compliance and legal research experience is an asset
  • Understanding of, or appetite to learn, large pieces of compliance legislation, notably the EU GDPR and AI Act
  • Organised with a keen eye for detail
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Creative and analytical thinking to resolve issues within established frameworks
  • Integrity and discretion
  • Strong networking skills for effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Additional languages are an asset
  • Genuine interest in and passion for addressing climate change
  • Ability to work generously with colleagues in a high-trust global community
  • Versatile and adaptable skills for a fast-paced, wide-ranging work environment
  • Ability to work across time zones using Zoom, Slack, email, and Google Workspace
  • Right to work in the candidate's location
