Job Description
Business Development Manager selling Rancho BioSciences’ data, analytics, and informatics services. Building European biotech and pharma sales pipelines and closing consultative solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Sell Rancho’s portfolio of data, analytics, and informatics services and products to biotech, small/mid-sized pharma, and life science companies
- Sell bioinformatics, curated databases, data engineering services, and data strategy consulting services
- Identify prospects and build a pipeline through networking, desk research, cold calling, events, and related activities
- Meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales targets for the assigned territory
- Identify, contact, and nurture decision makers at prospect and existing accounts
- Facilitate meetings with technical teams and senior leadership
- Collaborate with technical, solutioning, and business unit teams using a consultative client engagement approach
- Understand client needs, identify opportunities, coordinate presentations, develop client-facing proposals, and close deals
- Negotiate contracts and proposals and build long-term client and internal relationships
- Maintain up-to-date sales information, visit reports, forecasts, and pipelines in CRM
- Report individual sales results and analyze and interpret sales trends
Requirements:
- Early/mid-career business development professional
- Experienced in selling data and informatics services and products to Pharma and Biotech companies
- Minimum 2 years of Sales experience in the Life Sciences industry
- Ideally, experience selling data and informatics services and products to Pharma and Biotech companies
- Solid understanding of drug discovery and development
- Strong scientific background
- Strong network including leaders and decision makers in European Biotech/Pharma hubs
- Familiarity with scientific data ecosystems, AI/analytics, or digital R&D platforms
- Experience working in a global organization spanning multiple time zones and cultures
- Collaborative team player with integrity, professionalism, and customer-centricity
- Advanced degree in Life Sciences (nice to have)
- Fluent German language skills (nice to have)
