Job Description
Business Intelligence Associate transforming data into actionable fundraising and marketing insights for CDP, which provides analytics and technology services to public media organizations. Supporting Tableau reporting, SQL pipelines, data validation, visualization, and user enablement.
Responsibilities:
- Support the maintenance and improvement of interactive reporting products using Tableau
- Evaluate and use additional BI platforms such as Amazon QuickSight and Power BI
- Analyze marketing strategy and program performance through reporting tools and ad hoc data exploration
- Design and develop data visualizations to communicate insights and inform strategy
- Validate data integrity and accuracy of results
- Gather internal and external user feedback to improve reporting products and user experience
- Translate business intelligence needs into technical and logical requirements
- Maintain and improve sections of the codebase for BI data activation pipelines
- Use SQL and related tools for reporting, data validation, and data accessibility
- Apply data orchestration, governance, and metadata practices
- Identify opportunities to streamline manual or repetitive tasks
- Support internal teams and external clients in accessing data and information
- Maintain and update documentation and training materials
- Provide responsive support on data-access platforms
- Improve the clarity, usability, and consistency of BI resources
Requirements:
- 0–2 years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, data reporting, data operations, or a related role
- Some experience with SQL and interest in developing stronger proficiency with relational databases
- Exposure to data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Amazon QuickSight, or similar platforms
- Interest in data orchestration, data governance, metadata, ETL/ELT concepts, or data warehouse practices
- Strong logical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative, cross-functional environment
- Strong attention to detail, consistency, accuracy, and quality
- Curiosity, initiative, and willingness to learn new data and BI tools, platforms, and models
- Preferred: exposure to nonprofit work, nonprofit fundraising, public media, marketing campaigns, or mission-driven organizations
- Preferred: familiarity with Python, R, or another scripting or data analytics language
- Preferred: exposure to data warehouse design, code development and version control, ETL/ELT concepts, or related topics
- Preferred: interest in predictive modeling, campaign analytics, fundraising analytics, or marketing performance reporting
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience preferred
