Job Description
CTO scaling Sell2Rent’s residential sale-leaseback platform through AI, cloud infrastructure, and technology strategy. Leading distributed engineering and data teams to increase transaction capacity and revenue.
Responsibilities:
- Set the technology strategy, including architecture, build-vs-buy decisions, platform standardization, and AI investment priorities
- Lead and grow a distributed engineering and data team of roughly ten people in Latin America
- Complete migration off legacy systems and harden the platform for increased transaction volume
- Develop AI agents and capabilities into a durable competitive advantage
- Own security, access governance, vendor management, monitoring, documentation, and resilience practices
- Serve on the Executive Committee and partner with the CEO and sales, marketing, and operations leaders
- Translate business needs into technology execution and advise executives on technical feasibility and tradeoffs
- Establish engineering operating cadence, make deliberate technology decisions, and hire talent that raises the bar
- Ensure critical systems and knowledge do not depend on a single individual
Requirements:
- 15+ years in technology with progressive leadership responsibility and experience as a CTO, VP of Engineering, or Head of Technology
- Experience scaling a team and system from working-but-fragile to reliable-at-volume
- Technical ability to read architecture, challenge design decisions, and evaluate vendors
- Deep experience in AI-driven architecture, cloud infrastructure, APIs, integrations, and data
- Experience identifying architecture, tooling, security, and process blind spots
- People leadership experience with remote, distributed, and international teams
- Comfort with ambiguity, limited resources, and making decisions with incomplete information
- Ability to connect technical investments to revenue and defend them to a CEO
- Real estate, proptech, or fintech experience helpful but not required
- Experience running a US-based company with a LatAm engineering team helpful but not required
- Spanish helpful but not required
