Job Description
Commodity Manager developing sourcing strategies for mechanical and electrical components. Collaborating with suppliers and ensuring quality performance in supply chain management.
Responsibilities:
- Develop commodity strategies with a strong focus on mechanical and electrical components including analyzing and developing sourcing strategies; spend analysis and supplier strategies.
- Negotiate pricing, monitoring performance to agreed terms and conditions, and supplier selection.
- Collaborate with key suppliers to expand knowledge and identify opportunities for improvements.
- Leverage supplier expertise and/or technology to improve total costs.
- Collaborate with procurement and design engineering to find the best supplier for cost, quality, and design requirements.
- Develop and negotiate contractual agreements for price protection and supply security.
- Engage suppliers to provide long-term solutions to quality issues and sustain continuous improvement.
- Develop supplier relationships for optimized supply chain efficiencies.
Requirements:
- BS/BA in related discipline, or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical components
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to interact with inter and intra departmental personnel, as well as management.
- Strong computer skills
- Successful experience in negotiating with senior level managers.
- Demonstrated understanding of entire supply chain and cost drivers.
- Demonstrated data and financial analysis capability.
- Cross functional/organizational project management and facilitation skills (internal and external).
- Demonstrated self-starter.
