Job Description
Analyst supporting Community Science, a social-impact consulting firm, through qualitative and quantitative research, evaluation, and client deliverables. Helping foundations, nonprofits, governments, and communities turn evidence into practical strategies for lasting change.
Responsibilities:
- Support the design and implementation of qualitative and quantitative data collection efforts, including surveys, interview guides, focus groups, databases, and other research tools
- Collect, organize, manage, and analyze qualitative and quantitative data from interviews, focus groups, surveys, document reviews, and other sources
- Independently conduct virtual and in-person interviews and focus groups as appropriate
- Conduct literature reviews and background research
- Generate findings and insights using qualitative and quantitative analysis tools
- Support technical assistance, training, and capacity-building activities with clients and partners
- Interpret and synthesize qualitative and quantitative findings
- Draft reports, memos, proposals, and other client deliverables
- Prepare presentations and technical documents for different audiences
- Develop charts, tables, infographics, and other visuals
- Support presentations and discussions of findings with clients and project teams
- Coordinate tasks and timelines across multiple projects
- Collaborate across practice areas to deliver high-quality client work
- Participate in project meetings and contribute ideas, questions, and solutions
- Communicate project progress, questions, and emerging needs proactively
- Contribute to proposal development by coordinating tasks, preparing materials, writing sections, and producing submissions
- Maintain an 85% utilization target on project-related work
- Participate in approved professional development and internal non-client initiatives
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in public health, public policy, sociology, psychology, education, social work, or a related social science field
- Three or more years of professional experience in research, evaluation, consulting, community engagement, capacity building, or a related field
- Experience supporting multiple projects simultaneously while balancing competing priorities and deadlines
- Experience collecting, organizing, managing, and analyzing qualitative and/or quantitative data
- Experience conducting interviews, focus groups, surveys, or other qualitative and quantitative research activities
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to tailor information for different audiences
- Strong organizational and project management skills with careful attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with qualitative and/or quantitative analysis software such as Excel, SPSS, R, NVivo, Dedoose, or similar
- Comfortable balancing multiple projects in a collaborative, fast-paced consulting environment
- Able to work independently while proactively communicating progress, questions, and emerging needs
- Curious, adaptable, and eager to learn
- Commitment to advancing healthy, just, and equitable communities
- Interest in using research, evaluation, and community engagement to solve complex challenges
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed for client meetings, project activities, or community engagement
- Must be located within the 50 United States or Washington, DC
- Must be able to present proof of legal right to work in the United States
- Must not require employment-based visa sponsorship currently or in the future
