Job Description
Certified Nevada CTE teacher delivering online business and marketing instruction for grades 9–12. Managing virtual learning, student progress, parent communication, and state testing.
Responsibilities:
- Virtually manage instructional programs from an office within Nevada
- Consult regularly with learning coaches and students using telephone, Internet, and curriculum tools
- Complete grading, create progress reports, and conduct parent conferences
- Support asynchronous web conferencing sessions and synchronous instruction
- Review curriculum and devise alternate lesson presentation approaches
- Develop and update Personal Learning Plans and schedules
- Score assessments and provide feedback on student work
- Suggest instructional approaches and strategies
- Monitor assignment completion and coach special projects
- Collaborate with teachers to support student progress and distribute tasks
- Develop general knowledge of the K-12 curriculum and detailed knowledge of assigned courses
- Support students and parents with alternate strategies and assistance with assignments and projects
- Maintain current student records and data, including cumulative files, student and family information, attendance, and contact logs
- Develop enrichment activities and student-program modifications with teachers and learning specialists
- Coordinate social activities and relevant field trips
- Manage regional field trips and integrate them into the curriculum
- Create and maintain a virtual school community
- Participate in State Testing organization and administration
- Participate in student recruiting sessions and marketing efforts requiring teacher representation
- Work with School Counselors to support communications, student progress, and established goals
- Attend field trips and community activities for families
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Highly qualified and certified to teach Math in Nevada, appropriate to grade level and content area responsibilities
- Strong technology skills, especially with Microsoft OS and MS Office programs
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Customer-focused approach
- High degree of flexibility
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
- Team player track record
- Willingness to travel occasionally for marketing and state testing events, potentially including overnight travel
- Ability to work remotely, if necessary
- Ability to work occasional evening hours as needed to support families
- Must be able to use a personal electronic device and an email address for two-step authentication
