Job Description
Deployment Strategist leading strategic enterprise AI deployments for Salt AI, which builds compliance-first AI orchestration for regulated industries. Scoping, directing technical teams, and delivering customer go-lives.
Responsibilities:
- Own strategic enterprise deployments end to end, from initial scoping through production go-live and customer self-sufficiency
- Define named workflows, fixed timelines, engagement exit criteria, scope, capacity, and SOW approvals
- Partner with Sales on expansion while controlling committed scope, timeline, and capacity
- Build and run engagement plans with milestones, workstreams, owners, dependencies, and weekly status cadence
- Drive customer-side dependencies including data access, security and IT reviews, environment provisioning, and stakeholder availability
- Manage risks, issues, escalations, delivery quality, acceptance criteria, evaluations, testing, validation, production readiness, go-live, and hypercare
- Lead customer enablement through training, documentation, and change management
- Track effort, budget, and capacity and flag timeline or cost risks
- Provide leadership, prioritization, and technical direction to Forward Deployed Engineers and Customer Solutions Engineers
- Lead executive communication with customer sponsors
- Support post-go-live technical outcomes, adoption, and scoping of subsequent workflows
- Run post-engagement debriefs and feed field learning into product and platform priorities
- Build reusable delivery patterns, templates, integration components, and reference architectures
- Collaborate with the account’s Executive Advisor to bring domain expertise into scoping and validate outputs
Requirements:
- 5+ years owning complex enterprise technical deployments end to end
- Experience as a forward deployed engineer, technical program manager, solutions architect, or delivery lead at a technical consultancy or enterprise software company
- Track record running multi-workstream enterprise deployments to on-time go-live, with critical-path customer dependencies
- Technical fluency in cloud architecture, APIs, data pipelines, and integration patterns
- Engineering or technical background required
- Ability to enforce scope discipline with senior stakeholders
- Strong written communication and document hygiene
- Executive presence with VP- and C-level customer sponsors
- Comfort with ambiguity
- Willingness to travel as needed for client implementation work
- Preferred: experience with on-premise, VPC, or air-gapped deployments in regulated industries
- Preferred: familiarity with GxP, HIPAA, SOC 2, or similar compliance and validation frameworks
- Preferred: background at a company running a forward deployed engineering model
- Preferred: hands-on experience with AI/ML workflows, model deployment, or agent orchestration
- Preferred: track record turning one-off engagements into repeatable delivery motions
