Job Description
Digital Product Manager leading Allstate’s Kubernetes container platform strategy and lifecycle. Driving roadmaps, backlog prioritization, and cloud-based platform outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Define, deliver, and manage the lifecycle of the Kubernetes-based Container Platform
- Own product vision, discovery, roadmaps, and backlog prioritization
- Create, drive, and execute product strategy for the expanding Kubernetes container platform
- Create and execute a comprehensive product roadmap prioritizing platform features, enhancements, and measurable outcomes
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define success criteria, validate assumptions, and understand platform and digital product team needs
- Navigate complex container technologies to inform product decisions
- Decompose complex problems into manageable work items and prioritize them based on value, risk, and stakeholder impact
- Develop and execute internal and external communication strategies to increase product awareness, adoption, and stakeholder alignment
- Define and manage metrics to measure success and inform product strategy
- Engage in discovery and test-and-learn activities to validate assumptions and product direction
- Own lifecycle management, ensuring stack components are regularly updated to meet vulnerability management standards
- Manage the product backlog while balancing feature delivery with lifecycle management
- Coach and mentor product teams, stakeholders, and peers
- Support Allstate’s container platform across data centers, AWS, and Azure cloud environments
Requirements:
- 5+ years relevant new product or technology development experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with Platform as a Service or container orchestration software across multiple Kubernetes distributions, such as RKE2, EKS, AKS, or GKE
- Basic understanding of Kubernetes container platform concepts and experience executing kubectl commands
- Solid understanding of and experience with cloud services across multiple cloud service providers
- Solid understanding of infrastructure-as-code and immutable infrastructure concepts
- Experience operating in an environment driven by KPIs
- Proficiency in agile ceremonies and methodologies, including iterations, technical story writing, point systems, and refinements
- Knowledge of API development, API testing, and basic SQL database queries
- Experience working on projects that successfully leverage continuous integration and continuous delivery
- Ability to work EST in order to collaborate with global partners
- Required to submit to a background investigation
