Job Description

Director of eCommerce Technology at Deckers Brands, leading global eCommerce platform transformation and enhancing customer experiences. Collaborating with diverse teams to innovate and drive digital strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the execution, delivery, and continuous improvement of Deckers’ global eCommerce platforms and consumer digital experiences.
  • Ensure eCommerce capabilities are scalable, reliable, and aligned to business priorities.
  • Manage teams responsible for development, platform operations, and optimization of eCommerce systems.
  • Champion innovation and operational excellence ensuring platforms are always ready for growth.
  • Inspire and empower high-performing engineering teams fostering a culture of inclusion.
  • Collaborate across Product, Digital, Marketing, and Operations to deliver customer-centric experiences.
  • Modernize technology stack and introduce best practices that keep Deckers ahead in digital retail.
  • Measure impact on business growth, conversion, and customer satisfaction with eCommerce solutions.
  • Shape the culture and future of Deckers’ digital journey by being a visible leader.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field; MBA or Master’s degree in Technology Management or Business Administration preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering or digital platform delivery, with 5+ years in people leadership roles
  • Proven experience delivering and operating enterprise-scale eCommerce platforms
  • Hands-on experience with modern commerce technologies (Salesforce Commerce Cloud, headless commerce, composable architectures)
  • Experience working in global retail, DTC, or consumer-facing digital environments strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional delivery teams and managing competing priorities in fast-paced environments
  • Strong understanding of eCommerce platforms, web technologies, and cloud-native architectures
  • Experience with agile delivery, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and operational excellence
  • Ability to translate business needs into clear technical and delivery plans
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills across technical and non-technical audiences
  • Results-oriented mindset with a passion for customer experience, quality, and continuous improvement
  • Experience managing, developing, and delivering multi-tenant eCommerce platforms
  • Experience in AI-augmented SDLC for application development is a value add
  • Extensive experience in application performance tuning and platform scalability
  • Expertise in enabling tech strategies for digital/retail domains
  • Extensive experience in Microservices, APIs, Cloud Native & Headless integrations
