Job Description

Director leading cost management teams and services for Turner & Townsend’s large-scale construction projects. Driving client delivery, business growth, market insight, and talent development.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a team of Cost Managers
  • Deliver cost management services for a large-scale construction project
  • Ensure service excellence, continued growth of the cost management offering, and client engagement
  • Lead client communications and oversee cost management team services
  • Research construction market conditions and analyze official published data
  • Produce thought leadership reports on the construction market
  • Lead strategic and operational management of Cost Management Services
  • Manage resource planning, financial management, business generation, training, and development
  • Set team strategy and ambition in line with the Business Plan
  • Develop people and promote learning, respect, and inclusivity
  • Maintain knowledge management and share commission learning internally
  • Identify and implement process improvements
  • Ensure quality standards compliance and participate in ISO audits
  • Develop priority plans, risk mitigation, KPIs, management controls, and critical success factors
  • Undertake internal BMS audits and coordinate or represent the office during external audits
  • Develop market understanding, act as a brand ambassador, and create client opportunity pipelines
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities
  • Participate in leadership and staff meetings and deliver presentations
  • Track revenue, margins, monthly fees, and resource requirements using internal software
  • Prepare proposals and RFP responses
  • Attend networking and promotional events
  • Train and mentor staff and support career development
  • Partner with talent acquisition to attract talent and plan staffing needs
  • Adhere to applicable SOX control responsibilities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering or a construction-related field
  • 15+ years of relevant cost management or quantity surveying experience
  • 2+ years managing high-performing cost management teams in a consulting environment
  • Prior people management experience
  • Proven track record of managing successful cost management service delivery for clients
  • Exceptional business development acumen and ambition to drive business growth
  • Major construction sector experience with high-caliber clients in commercial real estate, data centers, life sciences, industrial manufacturing, natural resources, or related sectors
  • Excellent presentation, verbal, written, organizational, and communication skills
  • Graduate degree in quantity surveying, cost management, construction management, or engineering preferred
