Job Description
ABB sales director leading PV and BESS inverter growth for utility-scale renewable-energy customers across the United States. Shaping go-to-market strategy, winning contracts, and building strategic customer partnerships.
Responsibilities:
- Lead sales and business development activities for the Inverter product line with assigned Solar and BESS utility, EPC, and IPP customer accounts
- Develop customer contacts and build and maintain a customer-focused network at relevant hierarchical levels
- Generate value-oriented offers and respond to customer RFPs in a timely manner
- Work with the assigned contract management team to close contracts and win business
- Help product management teams define and improve the product portfolio for the North American market
- Gather customer and business-partner feedback and monitor industry trends
- Provide input on marketing and product positioning strategies for the US and Canadian markets
- Drive growth, shape go-to-market strategy, and build customer partnerships for ABB’s renewable-generation, grid-stabilization, and energy-transition solutions
- Collaborate with regional leadership, global product management, and engineering teams to deliver sustainable, profitable growth
Requirements:
- 5 to 10 or more years’ experience selling inverters/PCS to utility-scale Solar and BESS customers in North America
- Previous experience in the PV and BESS industry
- Industry relationships are a significant advantage
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering; Electrical Engineering preferred
- Proven and verifiable experience successfully growing market share
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent verbal and written English skills
- Adaptable, proactive, and strong time-management skills
- Willingness to travel as needed for account-management activities
- Close proximity to an airport is required
- Travel expectation of approximately 40%-50%, mainly in the US with some international travel
