Job Description
Allrecipes editor writing, editing, and publishing breaking-news and evergreen food articles. Managing CMS content, SEO, factual accuracy, and occasional writer assignments.
Responsibilities:
- Develop new article content across breaking news and evergreen food content
- Write, edit, and build new stories in the CMS
- Ensure factual accuracy and perform rewrites as needed
- Confirm that copy is clean and correct
- Pitch, brainstorm, and write new article ideas
- Edit, produce, and publish articles for the new content team
- Attend content meetings as needed
- Occasionally assign articles to staff and/or freelance writers
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
- At least 3 years' experience writing and editing in the food and beverage space, preferably for a digital brand
- Experience in the news space, especially editing experience, strongly preferred
- Extensive knowledge of cooking, recipes, and different kinds of cuisines
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Knowledge of and experience in implementing SEO best practices
- Ability to adopt an established brand voice and adhere to strict brand and style guidelines
- Comfortable with content management systems
- Detail-oriented and able to work efficiently, independently, and accurately
- Ability to work remotely with occasional office attendance 1 or 2 times a year
- Approximately 5% travel required
